The Body: I wondered why I was feeling like crap all day yesterday--extreme drowsiness, mild headache, eye pain, feverish without having a fever. I thought I was coming down with the flu and doubted I'd be at work today. Fortunately, it was just my period.

And the Rain, It Raineth

The Weather Overhead: About 3pm today, we had a brief, but intense, thunderstorm with heavy rain and an impressive lightning display--very bright, and a lot of it. I'd have sworn we had hail, too, but I didn't see any when I went outside at 4pm to catch the bus.

Food: Lunch today was a portabella mushroom covered in melted provolone cheese, served on a bed of steamed spinach, with a side Caesar salad. Delicious! It was the kind of meal that makes you want to say grace twice!

Imperial Secrets: I'm now working on the second installment of Myradin's resumed story. It's him, three bodyguards, and a couple of experienced mountaineers traveling from the city of Highgate (in a mountain valley) to northern Dakarta. Dakarta is a lot like Louisiana, and its capital city, Castelle, is like Cajun country, but very evil. Myradin doesn't particularly want to go there, but his sister did ask, so...
